A Family Business That Cares

At Ear Care Dorset, we believe great ear care is about more than just removing ear wax. It's about treating every person with kindness, patience and respect.

We're proud to be a genuine family business, founded by two husband-and-wife teams: Alan and Michelle Dobson and Ryan and Nicole McCormack. Having been close friends for more than 20 years, we've built Ear Care Dorset on shared values of trust, compassion and professional care. Every home visit reflects those values.

Recently, we visited a lovely lady in her mid-nineties at her home in the beautiful Dorset countryside. Like all of our appointments across Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and the surrounding areas, this was a mobile home visit, allowing her to receive professional care without the stress of travelling.

While Alan carried out a thorough ear health check and gently removed severe ear wax using microsuction, Michelle stayed by the patient's side, holding her hand, chatting with her and offering reassurance throughout the appointment. This calm, patient-centred approach is one of the reasons many people—including neurodivergent adults and those living with dementia or anxiety—choose Ear Care Dorset.

Sometimes it's the smallest acts of kindness that have the greatest impact. Feeling relaxed, supported and cared for can make all the difference, especially for someone who may be feeling anxious about treatment. And, of course, Michelle also made sure the patient's adorable little dog received plenty of attention too!

The treatment was a complete success. Both ears were fully cleared of wax, revealing healthy, visible eardrums and providing an immediate improvement in hearing. With her ears now clear, we recommended arranging a hearing assessment with her local hearing service to establish whether she could benefit from hearing aids.

Many people don't realise that wearing hearing aids can sometimes contribute to ear wax build-up by reducing the ear's natural ability to move wax out of the ear canal. It's a common issue, but one that can usually be managed with regular ear health checks and professional wax removal when needed. We'll be sharing more information about this in a future Advice & News article, so keep an eye on our website and social media channels.

Experiences like this remind us why we started Ear Care Dorset. Professional microsuction ear wax removal is about more than the procedure itself. It's about taking the time to listen, explaining every step, providing reassurance and treating every patient as an individual.

Whether we're helping someone hear clearly again, supporting a nervous patient through their first appointment or simply making healthcare more convenient with a home visit, we're committed to delivering calm, compassionate and professional ear care.

From our family to yours, thank you for trusting Ear Care Dorset. If you're looking for safe, professional mobile microsuction ear wax removal in Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole or the surrounding areas, we'd be delighted to help.
