Neurodiverse-Friendly Ear Care

At Ear Care Dorset, we believe everyone deserves healthcare that is respectful, understanding and tailored to their individual needs.

We are proud to provide a neurodiverse-friendly ear care service, supporting autistic people, individuals with ADHD, and anyone who benefits from a calm, flexible approach.

As a home visit service, we carry out every appointment in the comfort of your own home. For many people, being in familiar surroundings can reduce anxiety, minimise sensory overload and make treatment a more positive experience.

Understanding Through Training and Experience

Both Alan and Ryan have completed extensive Autism Awareness Training and have many years of experience supporting neurodivergent individuals.

We understand that every person is different, so we adapt our approach to suit the individual. Whether you need extra time, clear explanations, or a slower pace, we'll always do our best to make you feel comfortable.

If there's anything that would help make your appointment more comfortable, simply let us know when booking.

Our appointments are designed around you. We aim to:

  • Work at your pace.

  • Explain each step clearly.

  • Respect sensory sensitivities.

  • Adapt our communication to your needs.

  • We welcome parents, carers or support workers if they provide reassurance.

What You Can Expect

Microsuction with Your Comfort in Mind

We know that microsuction can feel unfamiliar, particularly if you're sensitive to sound or new experiences.

Before we begin, we'll explain what to expect and answer any questions you may have. Throughout the procedure, we'll check that you're comfortable and you're welcome to pause at any time.

Your comfort and wellbeing always come first.

Professional Ear Care with Understanding

Being neurodiverse-friendly isn't about offering a different service—it's about providing care that recognises every individual has different needs.

At Ear Care Dorset, we're committed to delivering professional ear care with patience, kindness and respect, helping every patient feel understood from the moment we arrive.

If you'd like to discuss any adjustments before your appointment, we're always happy to help.
